No Hate Speech Movement Brings Young People Together to Stand Up for Equality and Freedom of Speech
The backbone of the No Hate Speech Movement are the 18- to 30-year-old activists who have been specially trained for it. A movement of young people is a movement open for everyone. Anyone can join the No Hate Speech Movement or organise action against hate speech in their own community or event.
The No Hate Speech Movement wants to bring light to the fact that even in Finland anyone can be subjected to hate speech. The causes and consequences of hate speech need public discussion. The movement wants to raise debate and offer positive ways to answer to hate speech. By activating young people and trying to wake up the general public, the movement works for a more accepting social climate. The goal is to build a more open society and a safer internet.
